Directions
- Add 2 scoops of Maya
hot chocolate flakes
(30g) into a 12oz cup - Add a dash of hot water
Stir to make a silky paste - Pour steamed milk onto
the paste, whilst stirring - Finish with your chosen toppings
of cream, marshmallows or a
sprinkling of cocoa powder
Maya – specially crafted chocolate
For the Maya, chocolate was everything. From forging the process
of fermenting, drying, roasting and grinding the cacao beans to the inclusion of chocolate within traditional marriage ceremonies,
baptisms and even burying cacao beans and the associated utensils for producing a Mayan Chocolate Drink in the tombs of deceased rulers.
A Mayan chocolate drink took the paste made in the way described and included such ingredients as chilli peppers, spices, cornmeal, and water within the recipe and forged the way for the drink we now know as hot chocolate. So it is with thanks to the Mayans’ that we can enjoy this specially selected Hot Chocolate with its finely balanced notes of
sweetness and rich chocolate flavour today.
