French Press brewing guide

Cafetiere Brewing Steps:

  1. Start by bringing your water to the boil in your kettle.
  2. Next you’ll need to grind your coffee to a coarse texture, you will be using 16g of coffee for each cup you’re looking to make. For this recipe we will be using 48g of coffee.
  3. Put your 48g of ground coffee into the bottom of your Cafetiere and place onto the scale, the brew ratio for Cafetiere is 1:12 so for every 1g of coffee we use we are looking to add 12g/ml of water. Using this ratio add 576g of water to your coffee and start your timer, give the coffee a slight stir to mix and to help infuse then put the top back on and wait.
  4. When your timer reaches 4 minutes its time to press down your plunger at a steady pace but ensuring you don’t fully press down into the bottom of the Cafetiere to avoid disrupting any grounds at the bottom of the jug.
  5. After this point its then ready to pour and serve.
